The History of the Christmas Tree!
Hi, bigfooters! Today I'm going to talk about two things: The history of the Christmas tree, and something so amazing and cool, I'm going to BARF! :P So, see, yesterday my family went to get a Christmas tree at Hafner's late last night (Well, it was pitch black, at the very least) when we were driving, I was looking at the car in front of us and I saw a car sticker on the back window. As my vison got into focus, I noticed what the sticker looked like... And you know what? IT HAD A BIGFOOT ON IT!!! OMG!!! It was a Bigfoot in a circle with words around it, I think it said "Bigfoot Research Team"? Anyway, I freaked out! I was hoping the car in front of you was going to Hafner's too, but sadly, we lost it! ): I wish I knew who was in that car, because of course, a fellow bigfooter to another, right? Also, I'm just born curious! I also, very creepy, regretted not writing the license plate to track down who owned the car! Alright, that funny story aside, the History of the Christmas tree!
Christmas, to Christians, has always resembled the birth of Jesus Christ, the son of God, even though the actual birth date is not said in the bible at all! But, most people want to know, why in the world did we start decorating a tree on this day of holyness? I'll tell you!
So, from what Religious Education has taught me, the evergreen tree we decorate resembles life, since the evergreen is, well, always green! Also, since Jesus died for us and gave everybody eternal life in heaven, that links in, too. The decorations like the ornaments and lights were just added on as the years went by, but I believe they found a way to put other things on the tree earlier in time, including candles!
